Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Sr. Network Manager, the Network Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the firm’s network infrastructure to support data center operations and global business applications. The Network Engineer ensures that all networking technologies are strategically aligned with business objectives, providing high performance, security, and reliability across the enterprise.
The role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including the management of routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, SD-WAN, DIA, acceleration technologies, application load balancers, and proxy technologies. The Network Engineer will also support LAN/WLAN networking at edge offices, authentication infrastructures, WAN communications, and data center LAN platforms. Key duties involve system design, selection, implementation, administration, troubleshooting, analysis, testing, and deployment of new applications and hardware.
Collaborating closely with various Information Technology teams, the Network Engineer ensures that networking and communication solutions are optimized for efficiency and security. The engineer acts as an internal consultant, providing technical support and recommendations for new infrastructure components, and plays a pivotal role in project tasks and documentation, including support processes and operating procedures.
This position requires independent and team-based work, with responsibilities for completing project tasks and preparing comprehensive documentation. The Network Engineer will participate in various projects and initiatives assigned by the Sr. Network Manager and Director of Network Services and Security Technologies.
Job Duties And Responsibilities

Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in network engineering roles, demonstrating proficiency in managing and maintaining complex network systems. Experience administering office LAN and WLAN infrastructures, optimizing network performance with technologies like application load balancing, and supporting data center LAN environments is essential. Hands-on experience with network devices such as virtual interconnects, core switches, workgroup switches, routers, firewalls, SD-WAN solutions, and network optimizing and packet sniffing appliances is required. Knowledge of network services such as DHCP, TCP/IP, firewall rules, TCP/UDP ports, VLAN concepts, QoS, and routing technologies is crucial. Experience in vendor management, maintenance contract administration, and participation in technology initiatives to enhance network efficiency and security, including SD-WAN implementations, is highly desirable.
Skills: Advanced skills in network infrastructure management, including hands-on implementation and configuration of network devices such as virtual interconnects, core switches, workgroup switches, routers, firewalls, application load balancing, network optimization, and packet sniffing appliances. A strong understanding of network services such as DHCP, TCP/IP, firewall rules, TCP/UDP ports, VLAN concepts, QoS, and routing technologies is essential. Proficiency in using network analysis, monitoring, and packet capturing tools and appliances is required. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities are crucial, enabling effective liaison with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver comprehensive network solutions aligned with business needs. Dedication to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends is expected, empowering the candidate to recommend and implement innovative network solutions that drive organizational success. Working Conditions: Works remotely. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule. Potential for in-office work requests as needed, so proximity to the office is important.
