Our client in Chicago is hiring for a Security Engineering Manager. This individual will be responsible for managing the day-to-day security operations work and ad hoc troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and support security operations tools, processes, and procedures to maintain a secure computing environment across the organization.
- Oversee network security components, including firewalls and Secure Access Secure Edge solutions.
- Lead or assist in managing security incidents as needed.
- Direct the Security Operations team by developing work plans, assigning tasks and projects, managing workflow, and tracking project progress and goals.
- Handle recruitment, hiring, development, and performance management for Security Operations team members.
- Manage the team’s change management and problem resolution activities, ensuring timely delivery and resolution of issues.
- Drive continuous improvement through techniques such as root cause analysis to enhance efficiency and solve problems.
- Collaborate with other teams to adapt policies and procedures in response to evolving business and industry needs.
- Maintain inventories and provide input for the annual budget.
- Develop and present technical solutions and related materials to various teams within the organization.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with peers, management, vendors, and other stakeholders to achieve objectives.
- Draft and implement essential processes and procedures based on industry best practices, defining and measuring service level objectives and driving documentation efforts.
- Provide after-hours support when necessary and respond to after-hours requests via mobile.
- Engage in hands-on project and process activities related to the implementation and ongoing management of the security infrastructure.
This role encompasses the management of essential security technologies, including Firewalls, Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Logging/SIEM, Anti-Virus, and Vulnerability Management. The manager will oversee all team members and their contributions to our security initiatives.
