Job Title: IT Solution Architect
Location: Remote (candidate should be local to CO).
Contract : 6+ months
Experience: Minimum 14+ years
Note :: The candidate should have prior experience in the Information Technology industry.
Job Summary:
The IT Solution Architect is responsible for designing and implementing high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions that meet the business requirements of the organization. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to ensure that solutions adhere to architectural standards, best practices, and regulatory guidelines. The IT Solution Architect will also provide technical leadership, facilitate stakeholder communication, and ensure that solutions are cost-effective and aligned with the enterprise's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Solutions Architecture:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and interpret requirements, translating them into actionable technical solutions.
- Research and recommend technologies and platforms that align with security, accessibility, and compliance standards.
- Ensure proposed solutions adhere to architectural principles, best practices, and security and accessibility policies.
- Provide recommendations and participate in the selection of technologies and platforms.
- Contribute to developing standard operating procedures and policies.
- Estimate team efforts based on project specifications and provide progress reports to management and project managers.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks, including security risks, associated with the proposed solutions.
- Review and analyze solutions for performance, scalability, cost-effectiveness, and optimization.
Institutional Knowledge Building:
- Promote the understanding and application of industry-standard patterns and practices within the organization’s architecture.
- Share best practices with the solution architect community and other IT stakeholders.
- Capture intellectual assets during the solution delivery process and ensure they are reusable and relevant for future projects.
- Consult on new projects to recommend optimal architectures and estimate associated costs.
IT Innovation and Vendor Engagement:
- Stay up to date on current technologies and trends through continuous research.
- Identify opportunities for innovation within the organization and recommend cutting-edge solutions aligned with enterprise strategies.
- Track the success of initiatives and recommend alternative solutions when necessary.
- Anticipate and support the training needs of end users and support staff.
- Communicate the benefits (e.g., increased efficiency, cost savings) of solutions to business units.
Technical Leadership:
- Act as a technical expert and advisor, guiding teams in developing solutions based on business requirements.
- Provide insight into emerging technology trends, particularly regarding security and accessibility.
- Work closely with architects and engineers to ensure a consistent architectural vision across the enterprise.
Stakeholder Management:
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including business users, technical teams, and project sponsors, to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships through active listening, transparent communication, and proactive problem-solving.
- Facilitate consensus-building among diverse stakeholder groups with potentially conflicting priorities.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, non-technical language for stakeholder communication.
Documentation:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive solution architecture documentation.
- Create clear, concise technical designs and implementation plans for proposed solutions.
- Ensure all documentation is kept up to date throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect or in a similar technical leadership role.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and frameworks.
- Experience working with a range of technologies, platforms, operating systems, and databases.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Familiarity with advanced data migration techniques and security standards.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and security protocols.
- Familiarity with accessibility regulations and experience conducting product testing for accessibility.
- Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall project environments.
