Job Description
The Administrator II Network is accountable for maintaining and support network systems. In this role the network administrator II is responsible for organizing, modifying, installing, and supporting our company’s computer systems which includes but not limited to. Designs and installs LANs, WANs, Internet and intranet systems, and network segments. The administrators are also maintaining computer networks, monitor network availability, and collect data to enhance security and reliability. Providing the upkeep of network diagrams and other documentation.
- Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems
- Install and maintain network hardware and software
- High level troubleshooting of infrastructure technology related to network related problem and incidents
- Provides support by performing troubleshooting which may include, but not limited to problem recognition, root cause analysis, problem resolution, follow-up, and documentation
- Perform maintenance on IT network hardware and software including the restoration of hardware, software or configurations
- Support business-critical IT tasks and systems
- Supporting and configuration of switches, routers, firewalls and load balancers, wireless, software deployment, updates and patches and other network devices
- Provides assistances in leveraging technologies, processes, and disciplines for delivering best in class methods throughout IT Infrastructure
- Assist in the deployment and support of automating the build of network devices
- Ensures service targets and commitments are met regarding delivery of network hardware, software and security
- Perform project management activities for IT initiatives for KTLO as required
- Provide input into the technology roadmap strategy
- Maintain network servers such as VPN gateways, intrusion detection systems
- Maintains a high level of service delivery, ensuring quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Establish and maintain documentation through best practice processes and procedures
- On-call support is required
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in field of computer science or information systems preferred
- Four (4) years in an IT environment o Three (3) years in IT Network Infrastructure preferred o Network Certification Network+ or CCNA preferred
- Some knowledge of ITIL V3 preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of IT enterprise systems and tools
- Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards
- Experience in build, deployment and implementation network solutions
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex technical situations and concepts to management level employees
- Experience in project management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines under pressure
- Excellent solving network problem and quickly getting to the root cause
- Strong ability to analyze and grasp a situation quickly
- Able to operate well at a tactical level
- Good judgement and a proven ability to make decisions and exercise independent judgment
- High sense of urgency, with a "can-do" attitude to drive results
- Demonstrate technical understanding for analyzing information and Problem Solving
