The Vice President, Information Technology will lead the creation of strategies and plans that define how technology shall be utilized globally to enable the Company’s business strategy. You will work alongside and in collaboration with internal stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of their business goals, challenges, and technology requirements. You will continually monitor external technology developments to understand trends, impacts, and new / emerging technology solutions to meet current and future needs of the business. You will be responsible for leading the IT organization overseeing the deployment of effective global technology solutions, including software, hardware, and cloud services, ensuring they support business objectives. You will define global information technology requirements and solutions that drive innovation and compliance, ensure success for product launches, and establish efficiencies across the organization.
The position will be responsible for establishing and driving a global information technology roadmap that spans Applications Development and Maintenance (ERP, TrackWise Digital, Tracelink, MasterControl, Veeva, Argus, etc.), Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Infrastructure, Cloud and Information Security. All in support of a transforming a dynamic biopharmaceutical company within a highly regulated industry. You should be an innovative information technology leader with experience operating at the highest levels of a life sciences organization.
Responsibilities
- Partner with other executives to develop, articulate and continually evolve the company’s strategic technology direction to ensure alignment with our global business goals.
- Formulate comprehensive technology strategies that align with and support our global business objectives, encompassing both short-term and long-term IT planning.
- Lead the development of technology capability roadmaps, technology roadmaps, and technology lifecycle roadmaps.
- Develop, own, and execute on a robust internal customer relationship plan to exceed internal client expectations in a rapid growing and compliance-based environment.
- Develop a strong proactive partnership with our Commercial organization to ensure that their technology needs are met through systems, tools, hardware, etc. to ensure sales goals are met.
- Develop a strong proactive partnership with the Dusseldorf Site Leadership Team and the Dusseldorf Digital Technology function to develop a strategic IT roadmap and ensure manufacturing goals are met.
- Member of the Enterprise Leadership Team (ELT) representing the IT function and providing technology thought leadership to the ELT.
- Present quarterly technology updates to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive global IT security and risk management programs including establishing the appropriate policies, trainings and programs.
- Executes a governance process to provide executive leadership with visibility into program performance and decision-making ability.
- Establish and maintain effective governance for global IT controls leveraging deep experience in SOX, GxP, Data Protection and other compliance driven requirements.
- Develop and lead a high-performing team of information technology professionals; fostering a culture of collaboration and support through coaching and mentoring; successfully translating business requirements into team deliverables, individual goals, and objectives.
- Continually evaluate new technology trends balancing the need for "enterprise ready" technology with a desire to innovate.

Qualifications
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience in an IT/Technology leadership role within the life sciences field, including at least 5 years in an executive capacity (at the Vice President Level).
- BSc/BA in computer science, business administration, or information management; or equivalent qualifications; MSc/MA preferred.
- MBA or Graduate degree and/or equivalent preferred.
- Recent and substantial pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience is required.
- Deep experience across R&D, manufacturing, and commercial functions required (within life sciences / pharma / biotechnology strongly preferred)
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.

$300,000 - $333,000 a year
The estimated salary range for this position is $300,000 to $333,000. Final pay determinations may depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, geographical location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position also includes other compensation elements such as stock equity awards and participation in our Company’s discretionary annual bonus program. Dynavax also offers a full range of health and welfare insurance benefits, 401(k) company match, and paid time off benefits, including 17 paid holidays in 2024.
