Key Responsibilities of the Cyber Security Engineer:
- NGFW/Endpoint Protection Administration: Design, configure, monitor, and manage existing Palo Alto firewall & endpoint protection platforms.
- Vulnerability Management: Remediate vulnerabilities in a timely manner and in compliance with our SSP thresholds, interfacing with divisional IT developer & infrastructure staff as needed.
- Industry Notices: Routinely monitor relevant vendor notices, open-source intelligence, and 3rd party disclosures & news to ensure timely mitigation and remediation of newly discovered flaws or 0day threats.
- Security Operations (SecOps): Monitor, manage, and mitigate security alerts and incidents including Endpoint Protection logs, server event logs, SDWAN, and Internet firewall logs, etc.
- MFA: Manage existing MFA system & integration with multiple platforms.
- Incident Response: Lead the technical investigation and response to security incidents, including containment, eradication, recovery, and evidence gathering as needed, including root cause analysis and detailed incident reports/remediation needed.
Requirements of the Cyber Security Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Computer Science, I.T., or related field
- Minimum 5 years each of cybersecurity, networking, and server administration experience
- Windows, Ubuntu, Cisco, & Palo Alto platform experience required
- Ability to work both autonomously & within team projects with deadlines required
- CISSP, CEH, GIAC, or other relevant security certifications preferred
- Experience in multi-site, multi-company IT environments is preferred
