Summary
The MIL Corporation is seeking a
Junior Information Security Specialist (Info. Systems & Cyber Security, Jr. Analyst) to support remote site cyber validation and integration.
This position supports a Federal Government client from our Lexington Park, MD location and currently requires a hybrid schedule with 3 days on-site. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes material equipment list for cyber capability.
- Effectively and securely use internet resources to qualify equipment.
- Develops IT equipment vendor tolerance data for cyber questionnaires.
- Reports issues to project engineering SMEs of all range disciplines.
- Formulates and propose mitigations for lack in security control criteria match.
- Facilitates vendor communication for accurate cyber questionnaire input.
- Assists cybersecurity engineering efforts during all lifecycle phases.
- Assists with one or more of the following:
- Configuration, management, and troubleshooting of devices such as routers, switches, keyboard video and mouse (KVM) devices, network attached storage (NAS) devices, etc.
- Creation of virtual machines (VMs) and loading/configuring operating systems such as RHEL.
- Configuration of network monitoring or intrusion prevention.
Travel
Up to 15% per year, as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Professional experience in IT or cybersecurity
- Must possess current Security + certification or be able to obtain within 90 days of start date
- Strong understanding of basic IT concepts
- Comprehension of basic networking tenants
- Fundamental understanding of cybersecurity methodologies, with the ability to articulate key cybersecurity concepts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in the DoD environment
- Current IT/cyber certification
- Experience with slide decks and graphics
- Experience with Microsoft Visio
- Experience with technical writing
- Current DoD or Homeland security clearance
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field from an accredited college.
Clearance

Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $70,000 - $90,000 per year.
