Position Overview
As a Senior Network & Security Engineer, you will be crucial in managing and supporting our infrastructure, systems, security, and data communications in a hybrid role based in Seattle, WA. Your expertise will be essential in troubleshooting network-related challenges, administering data and voice systems, and ensuring the integrity and security of our information assets. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor IT professionals, including Help Desk Technicians and Network Administrators, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify network requirements, develop strategic plans, and anticipate capacity needs.
- Plan and execute network installations and expansions effectively.
- Manage and administer networking equipment from industry leaders such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, HPE, Juniper, and implement cloud networking solutions.
- Maintain and upgrade workstations, networks, servers, databases, and backups.
- Administer telephony and contact center systems, including Teams, Amazon Connect, RingCentral, and Nice InContact.
- Oversee Hyperconverged platforms and application load balancing to ensure optimal performance.
- Implement security best practices, including remote access management using VPNs, MFA tools, and oversight of security platforms.
- Conduct security assessments and threat modeling to identify risks and recommend mitigating controls.
- Lead projects, providing technical guidance and effectively delegating tasks to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of firewalls, system access and configuration, network security, and anti-virus technologies.
- Expertise in system performance and security methodologies.
- Extensive experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, AHV (Nutanix), and Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with tools such as Fortinet, Veeam, Knowbe4, CrowdStrike, VXRail, Nutanix, Azure, and application load balancers (A10, F5, M365).
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in network and infrastructure design, deployment, and maintenance.
- At least 8 years of project management experience in a technical environment.
- Security-related certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM) and network-related certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, MCSE, CCNP) are preferred.
