Position Summary
The Operations, Controls, & Carrier Compliance Specialist is responsible for assessing carrier partners for compliance with regulations and company policies, conducting audits, and reviewing contracts to ensure legal alignment. The role conducts research, drives policy implementation, issue resolution, quality assurance, data analysis, and continuous improvement in carrier compliance programs. They collaborate with internal audit teams, maintain accurate records, and generate detailed reports with recommendations.

Opportunity
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience, encompassing quality control expertise and internal control knowledge, in order to assist with audits for Insurance Carriers, Carrier delegated authority compliance for programs, MGUs and MGAs.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Handle the review and quality checks of various insurance and non-insurance related projects, ensuring that compliance with external and internal regulations are met.
- Develop, enhance and maintain audit procedural checkpoints, methods and techniques in order to validate information and minimize risk.
- Coordinate with MGU management to prepare for carrier audits and to provide appropriate internal support to ensure audits are executed smoothly.
- Coordinate responses from MGU management for audit inquiries for carriers or post–audit actions.
- Work with other team members to facilitate Carrier Audit support management for MGUs requiring additional assistance where needed.
- Work with the MGUs to make the necessary improvements and implement best practices following carrier audit reports and recommendations.
- Analyze, review and address breaches of delegated authority to ensure integrity of products and procedures.
- Manage the quality assurance process to review all lines of business setups in the main policy management system, identifying any areas of concern and working with the IT and Implementation teams to make sure corrections are made and adherence to carrier agreements are sound.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of underwriting files to identify quality of the file hygiene and provide feedback on areas of improvement in order to operate at optimal standards and within best practice requirements.
- Organize, maintain and review RSGUMs 130+ carrier agreements, catalogue, quality control agreements and continually update information while coordinating with Legal, Compliance, IT and business leadership.
- Work with other team members to facilitate Carrier Audit support management for MGUs requiring additional assistance where needed.
- Perform special projects in conjunction with other team members from within the Controllership team, Compliance, IT, Legal, etc.as needed, in order to support the Controllership/ Quality Assurance function and the Company.
Education/ Experience/ Skills
- Minimum of 3 years with an insurance organization in the capacity as a carrier or compliance auditor or a similar background with respects to quality control or audit review.
- Strong analytical, data management and decision-making skills.
- Contract review experience in order to make sure agreements are understood to enable review and quality assurance processes are sound.
- Organized, with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in an undefined work environment.
- Ability to take initiative, guide, and influence others toward goal accomplishment.
- Working knowledge of audit frameworks.
- Strong business acumen and deep knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

The target salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 annually.
The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
