Position Overview
The Vice President of Information Technology will create the technology strategy, planning, short and long-term IT objectives while working with the different departments to ensure the organization’s technology aligns with the business goals. The VP of Information Technology will lead/develop a team of IT professionals and ensure the organization’s technology is reliable, up-to-date, and secure.
What You Will Do
- Develop Information Technology strategic plan for the business.
- Evaluate the use of technology in the organization and recommend progressive alternatives where appropriate.
- Direct software development and implementation projects, for both ERP and other applications
- Build a robust security process and ensure Cybersecurity defenses are implemented.
- Oversee the organization’s Network, Communication platform and Infrastructure.
- Manage user services (Helpdesk and Administration)
- Lead, hire, train, develop, and retain a top performing IT team.
- Manage the organization’s budget.
- Understand and anticipate the needs of internal and external customers and becomes a trusted advisor/educator.
- Considers many sources of information and evaluates the information for best courses of action and carefully deliberates before a final decision is made.
- Leverages relationships with a diverse group across levels and functions.
Skills For Success
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; an MBA or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of related and progressive information technology leadership experience, with a history of building and leading world-class IT teams.
- Experience leading and developing a strategy for Applications, Infrastructure and Cyber security within an IT organization for a manufacturing company.
- Experience in a manufacturing business that uses components, parts, or raw materials to make a finished good (exposure to FDA is preferred).
- Experience with ERP systems with integrated applications to manage the business and automate many back-office functions related to technology, services, and human resources. QAD is highly preferred.
- Ability to express ideas in a clear and concise manner that tailors message to targeted audiences to build lasting and trusted relationships.
- Proven organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to inspire, motivate and lead a global IT organization.
