Job Summary:
As a General Construction Superintendent, you will oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. You will coordinate and supervise all on-site activities, manage project teams, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and direct construction activities on-site
- Supervise and coordinate the work of subcontractors and construction crews
- Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality standards and compliance with safety regulations
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process
- Maintain effective communication with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders
- Prepare and maintain daily reports on project progress and site activities
- Ensure all necessary permits and inspections are completed in a timely manner
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to promote a safe work environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project)
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to navigate through constant change while maintaining a positive attitude
Experience:
- 5 years of experience in construction management or supervision
- Experience with residential and commercial projects preferred
Working Conditions:
- Primarily on-site at construction locations
- May require working in various weather conditions and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Will require to work in high stress environments
