Primary Talent Partners has a 2-year contract for a Network Security Engineer with our great financial client.
Responsibilities include design, architecture, implementation, security and support of large multi-site, multi-vendor network communication environments.
Major Accountabilities:- Manage network projects.
- Develop detailed requirements for upgrading existing corporate and Client networks, as well as re-architecting network segments in order to facilitate new requirements, technologies and growth.
- Resolve network communications and operations problems impacting customer or backbone access and performance globally.
- Participate in telecommunications-related initiatives.
- Research and develop innovative solutions around unified network solutions.
- Support assigned regional projects, which include responsibility for planning; time and cost control; resource utilization and implementation.
- Support Vendor management.
- Provide strategic technical direction on highly complex network systems project or activities involving the selection and recommendation of design approach and systems software technology.
Skills & Education:- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Formal business or management training including Project Management, Strategic Planning, some finance experience and related curriculum. Knowledge / Experience:
- Five to eight years of overall IT experience in the following areas: - Networking, including LAN/WAN, Firewalls, wireless, Security and encryption technologies.
- Experience with TCP/IP protocol communications.
- Knowledge of Cisco's and Arista product portfolio.
- Firewall experience: Checkpoint as well as Palo Alto.
- Load Balancer experience: F5 or Citrix Netscaler.
- SASE experience: Prisma Access or Netscaler.
- Cloud experience: AWS or Azure.
- Advanced knowledge of Project Management methodology and best practices.
- Knowledge of Network diagnostics, BGP, SNMP, VPN, SSH, MPLS technologies. Skills/ Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Self starter with demonstrated listening skills.
