The Information Technology Security Analyst plays a role in supporting security measures within various environments. This position aids in enhancing the organization’s cybersecurity by assisting with assessments and compliance activities on federal projects. The Analyst works with team members to help ensure systems are secure and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support security measures in alignment with relevant standards.
- Assist in assessments and audits to identify potential security issues.
- Help create and maintain security-related documentation.
- Monitor security events and support incident analysis.
- Collaborate with technical teams to integrate security into system designs.
- Participate in ongoing monitoring to ensure compliance with security standards.
- Engage in incident response activities.
- Contribute to security awareness initiatives.
- Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Work with senior staff to enhance security practices.
Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in information assurance, cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with federal security standards, including NIST SP 800-53, RMF, and FISMA requirements.
- Experience using security tools such as SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight), vulnerability scanners (e.g., Nessus, Qualys), and endpoint security solutions.
- Knowledge of security controls implementation for cloud (AWS, Azure), on-premises, or hybrid environments.
- Understanding of STIG compliance and vulnerability management practices.
- Exposure to scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating security tasks is a plus.
- Understanding of network security principles, firewall configuration, IDS/IPS, and encryption methods.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assist in the identification and mitigation of security risks.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and support senior analysts.
- Certifications such as Security+, CAP, or CySA+ are preferred.
