Our client is a cutting-edge space data company specializing in the development of a constellation of earth-imaging satellites. They are dedicated to leveraging space technology for valuable insights and global impact.
Position Overview:
Our client seeks a skilled IT & Network Engineer to design, implement, and secure their network infrastructure and IT systems. This position requires a strong background in network performance optimization, cybersecurity, and a proactive approach to IT management. The ideal candidate should demonstrate technical excellence, problem-solving abilities, and an independent work style.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Design & Implementation: Develop and deploy network solutions aligned with organizational needs.
- Hardware Management: Configure and maintain network hardware, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- System Administration: Manage and troubleshoot servers and workstations to ensure system performance and reliability.
- Security Management: Implement security protocols, conduct audits, and regularly assess risks to safeguard data.
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and enhance network performance, ensuring optimal uptime.
- Technical Support: Provide hands-on support for end-users, addressing hardware and software issues.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of network configurations, policies, and changes.
- Collaboration & Training: Work closely with other IT teams, provide training on network safety, and update policies as per industry standards.
- Compliance: Lead efforts to align policies with CMMC, NIST 800-171, and data protection standards.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Strong foundation in cybersecurity systems engineering (e.g., NIST 800-53 RMF, ISO 27001).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with scripting for automation and hands-on experience with Meraki/Cisco firewalls, VPNs, and SIEM tools.
- Proficient in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and technologies (LAN, WAN, VPN).
- Solid understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Mac) and network monitoring tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
