The Network Engineer is Responsible for global support, development, and management of network infrastructure (WAN, LAN, WLAN, Security, IoT, DataCenter), including hardware, service coordination, and optimization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and intermittently improving our current network configuration and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Worldwide support and further development of the central and decentralized network infrastructure for WAN (SD-WAN), LAN (L2 + L3), WLAN, Security-Network, IoT-Network and the DataCenter network
- Planning and operation for our on-premise network with switches, routers, firewalls and access points worldwide
- Managing the hardware with monitoring and administration tools
- Service handling with our IT service providers
- Participation in IT projects in close cooperation with other teams
- Second-level support and central point of contact for all network infrastructure issues
- Ongoing optimization and expansion of our global network
- Other tasks as required by Manager
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area
- 2 - 4 years' of experience with network administration in a Linux or Windows environment
- Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals
- Ideally practical experience in the planning and daily operation of network infrastructures
- Knowledge of routing, switching and wireless technologies
- Knowledge of automation languages such as Ansible or Terraform desirable
- Certificates such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE are an advantage
- Service orientation and a high level of commitment
Physical Demands / Work Environment
- No heavy lifting is expected; although exertion of up to 20 pounds of force may be required on occasion.
- Manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment, such as computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.
- Sitting for extended periods of time is common.
- Hearing and vision within average range to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
