Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced System Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in managing Windows Servers, virtualization technologies (such as VMware vSphere), Linux Servers, and cloud-based solutions. This role will focus on ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our IT infrastructure and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Windows Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments, including troubleshooting and performance tuning.
- Virtualization (vSphere): Manage and maintain virtualization infrastructure using VMware vSphere or other virtualization platforms.
- Linux Server Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers to support various applications and services.
- Cloud Services: Administer cloud platforms such as AWS including provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- System Security: Implement and manage security protocols, patches, and updates for server environments to ensure optimal security posture.
- Backup & Recovery: Manage backup solutions and disaster recovery plans, ensuring critical systems are safeguarded and recoverable.
- Network Administration: Collaborate with the network team to ensure smooth operation between systems and networks.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts to automate routine administrative tasks, using tools like PowerShell, Bash, or other automation technologies.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Set up system monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential issues, generating regular reports on system health and performance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in system administration with Windows and Linux Servers.
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere or similar virtualization platforms.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Preferred:
- Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, VMware Certified Professional, or Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC).
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments and migration from on-premises to cloud.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
- Proficient in Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, or Red Hat).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox).
- Knowledge of cloud services management and deployment (AWS, Azure).
- Strong understanding of security best practices, firewalls, and networking principles.
- Experience with automation tools like PowerShell or Bash.
