Job Summary
The LA Clippers are looking to hire an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to help protect our critical infrastructure across our new arena Intuit Dome, the KIA Forum, and the Clippers organization. In this role, you will partner with our IT, infrastructure, and operations teams—in collaboration with our Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP)—to assess and mitigate vulnerabilities, monitor threats, and respond swiftly to incidents. What You Will Do
As the Cyber Security Engineer you will drive all phases of the security technology lifecycle including technical requirements, architecture, design, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring. Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting security operations including log analysis, vulnerability assessments, and threat analysis. We are looking for someone who possesses an in depth understanding of current and emerging threats and technology to drive improvement in all technical areas of security including network, data, application, cloud, IAM, mobile, and endpoint.
Your Background, Skills and Qualifications:
- Architect, design, deploy, and lead the implementation of multiple information security technologies including endpoint, application, database, network, cloud, infrastructure, and identity management solutions.
- Architect, design and deploy technology to support security operations center including log management, SIEM, vulnerability management, patch management, and forensics tools.
- Conduct research to identify threats and attack vectors and develop mitigating solutions to manage the risk.
- Monitor and respond to information security incidents and support security investigations maximising insourced and outsourced tools and services.
- Build and analyze reports compiled from various security tools to identify and anticipate patterns of attack, manage and report on the overall threat landscape.
- Develop and maintain Incident Response (IR) plans, playbooks, and protocols to ensure a timely and effective response to security incidents.
- Conduct regular tabletop exercises with cross-functional teams to test and refine incident response capabilities, identify gaps, and improve preparedness.
- Contribute to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans, supporting the development, testing, and execution of exercises to ensure resilience and minimize downtime in the event of a disruption.
- Respond to internal and external audits, providing documentation and support as needed, and lead efforts to address any identified vulnerabilities or non-compliance issues.
- Mitigate and respond to vulnerabilities identified through audits and assessments, working with relevant teams to implement corrective actions and prevent future risks.
- Collaborate with the Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) for continuous threat monitoring, analysis, and support on security incidents.
- Design and implement security policies, procedures, and controls in alignment with industry standard processes and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain an information security risk register and assist with internal and external audits relating to information security.
- Maintain and operate vulnerability management process and tools and work with infrastructure and application development staff to keep systems current and effectively manage risk.
- Perform regular security assessments on infrastructure and monitor information systems activities and systems to confirm security policy compliance
- Review and document security related change requests and advise management on approval decisions.
- Monitor and respond to 'phishing' emails and 'pharming' activity.
- Assist with the creation, maintenance and delivery of cyber security awareness training for colleagues.
- Maintain technical currency and continuously leverage opportunities to strengthen skills and broaden expertise.
- Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends to enhance the organization’s cybersecurity posture.
Your Background, Skills And Qualifications
- Education: BA/BS Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science/Engineering, Cryptology, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with security industry standards (ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework) and standard processes.
- Experience in coordinating and performing application and infrastructure penetration testing.
- Experience in working with security operations tools including anti-malware, AV, IPS/IDS, SIEM.
- Experience in leading and operating vulnerability/patch management processes and tools.
- In-depth technical knowledge of web development, security engineering, network security, security protocols and cryptography.
- Ability to identify vulnerabilities, anticipate threats, and use a practical approach to reduce the likelihood or impact of a breach.
- A detailed understanding of tools, policies and standards related to security systems and experience in driving incident response process and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Demonstrated dedication to continuing education to strengthen skills, broaden expertise and maintain currency with emerging technology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn applicable business systems.
- Dedication to lead projects from origin through execution.
Additional Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements such as PII, PCI, and CCPA.
- Professional certifications in computer technology, security, risk management or business continuity, preferably CISSP, CCSP, CEH or CISA.
- Scripting skills (e.g. Python, PowerShell, shell scripting).
- Experience with Microsoft Purview for data governance and compliance monitoring is a plus.
About Intuit Dome:
Opening in August 2024, Intuit Dome is the new home of the LA Clippers and will host hundreds of sporting events and concerts each year. Located in Inglewood, Calif., Intuit Dome is built different -- it will redefine fans’ expectations for live experiences and change the music landscape in Los Angeles.
Set to host the 2026 NBA All-Star game, Intuit Dome is over 1 million square feet and features our team training center, business operations offices, five full-sized basketball courts, an 80,000 square foot outdoor plaza and a double-sided Halo Board composed of more than an acre of LED.
Compensation
- The range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000 annual compensation. Compensation package offered will be based on multiple individualized factors, including a candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
- The role is classified as exempt.
