Through our financial advisory business, Lazard advises clients around the world on strategic and financial matters including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, capital structure and capital raising. Our Restructuring & Liability Management group is looking to add a Vice President to its team of professionals in the Lazard New York office. The group specializes in helping companies in financial distress and is an important strategic component of our Financial Advisory business. The team also helps advise creditors and other investors that hold positions in companies facing distress or are going through bankruptcy/reorganization. Through a combination of restructuring and industry-related expertise, we have solidified our place as the leading financial restructuring advisory firm in the world.
We’ll trust you to:
- Stay abreast of recent market trends and deal structures in the leveraged finance and distressed markets
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients
- Managing deal processes and provide guidance to Associates & Analysts
- Negotiate documentation and deal terms
- Brainstorm and develop solutions for clients with other members of the Restructuring team
You’ll need to have:
- At least 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably from an investment bank or turnaround advisory firm, or 5+ years of restructuring experience as a restructuring attorney or credit investor
- Top academic performance with comfort operating in an unstructured environment which values initiative, creativity
- Excellent quantitative, analytical and communications skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, maturity, and poise
- Ability to manage junior bankers
- Strong client and presentation skills
- MBA or undergraduate business degree preferable
- Proficiency in Bloomberg, Excel, PowerPoint and other financial tools required

We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately $250,000 – $275,000 USD. Various factors contribute to determining the actual base compensation offered, including but not limited to the applicant’s years of relevant experience, career tenure, qualifications, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and relevant skills for the role. Base salary is one component of Lazard Financial Advisory’s compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.
