Axient is currently seeking experienced Systems Engineers for projects and technology development in Aeronautics and Air Traffic Management. Systems Engineers will perform various Systems Engineering activities including developing SE procedures and processes, requirements management, configuration management, tracking metrics, risk management, technical review, developing and reviewing Systems Engineering plans, documentation, and contract deliverables.
What You Will Do...
- Technical leadership
- Establishing, refining, and documenting technical and Systems Engineering processes
- Develop and review Systems Engineering and Management Plans
- Develop system engineering work products (e.g., requirements, architecture, APIs, sequence diagrams, use cases, scenarios, test plans, metrics, decision tracking, risks)
- Work with Researchers and Technical Leads to identify Goals, Objectives, Success Criteria, Measures of Effectiveness (MoEs), Measures of Performance (MoPs), Key Performance Parameters (KPPs)
- Use Cases and Scenarios development, refinement and traceability to high level objectives and system requirements
- Develop and update System Architectures and Requirements
- Requirements management (develop, update, allocate, track implementation, control changes)
- Requirements verification and validation
- Mentor and train on Systems Engineering practices, processes and application
- Identify, track and assess technical risks and develop mitigations
- Configuration Management
- Project milestones and schedule reporting and maintenance
- Review contractor deliverables for requirements verification
- Develop, review and approve Test Plans
- Analyze test data and document metrics and close out reports
- Tech Transfer documentation development
- Interface and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) management (define, document, control)
Skills You Will Need...
Requirements:
- Ability to understand project needs, goals and objectives and translate them into a technical solution
- 5 years experience in Systems Engineering
- BEng or BS degree in a technical field
- In-depth familiarity with systems engineering
- Experience as a technical lead with system-level responsibilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly to a diverse audience
- Current U.S. Citizen or U.S. person status.
Ideal candidate would have additional experience in:
- Software development
- Familiar with Air Traffic Management within the National Airspace System
- Knowledge of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), Urban Air Mobility (UAM), and/or Advanced Air Mobility (AAM)
- NASA systems engineering processes and requirements
- Agile software management and development
- Depth and knowledge of aeronautics
- Confluence and Atlassian tools
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
