The Role
The Senior Vice President - Risk Management Tech and Digital Economy is a strategic leadership position designed to navigate Moody's through the evolving landscape of IT risks and digital economy opportunities. This role is responsible for steering the organization's risk management strategy and overseeing the operationalization of risk management within the Technology organization including risks related to Information Security, Data Management, Digital economy/blockchain and AI The goal is to make sure that the risks noted above are clearly understood by the first line of defense, transparently reported through governance and managed within the defined risk appetite and risk management framework.
The role will report to the MR Chief Risk Officer. The incumbent will have a critical role in driving key objectives to meet MIS's strategic business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive risk management strategy that encompasses Technology, Information Security, Data Security, and the Digital Economy.
- Oversee the operationalization of Moody's Risk Framework within MR Technology and Digital economy domains, to drive alignment with our risk management policies and standards, deliver on MR' risk and strategic goals, and operate within the Risk Appetite
- Champion a culture of rigorous risk management, providing expertise on emerging technologies and their associated risks.
- Employ a holistic view of risks to navigate Moody's through Enterprise Risk, Audit, Compliance, InfoSec/Cyber, Data, Regulatory, and Digital Economy challenges.
- Evaluate strategic initiatives related to digital finance, AI, technology and data, and navigating competing stakeholder needs and driving alignment.
- Build and nurture cross-departmental relationships to ensure seamless implementation and execution of risk programs, fostering innovation and strategic alignment.
- Understand regulatory requirements across different jurisdictions and oversee that the business areas have the process and controls to comply with the requirements.
- Develop and present risk reports with insights and updates on risk management matters to Boards, Risk Committees and Regulatory bodies.
- Design and deliver targeted Risk and Digital Economy training to empower Moody's workforce, enhancing the risk management expertise within the first line of defense.
- A transformation leader capable of developing, standardizing, and operationalizing risk management strategies across diverse technology and digital economy landscapes
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience specifically related to Technology, Cyber and Data Governance, operations, and risk & control management, in large enterprise-level environments
- 10+ years of experience building and implementing enterprise risk management processes and frameworks for technology environments; preferably with a financial institution
- 10+ years of leadership and/or management experience in an Agile environment
- Broad-based technology experience, ideally with digital finance and AI included, at substantial scale and complexity in a global, highly regulated environment.
- Strong background in navigating product or tool development, specifically focusing on technology and data.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships between business and technical stakeholders.
- Excellent communication (verbal, written) and presentation skills
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is (($192,500)) - (($279,200)), depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
