About the Role
Cyber Management International Corporation is actively recruiting an experienced Network and Computer Systems Security Administrator to support our client at the U.S. Department of State (DOS) Consular Affairs Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). The CAEIO Program provides IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting CA services globally.
The Network Security Engineering role will focus on providing Zscaler, Cloudflare and Illumio Engineering support and will be responsible for implementing the solutions to manage connections between Consular Affairs users and cloud environments, applying IT Security Governance policies to prevent data exposure, ensure compliance across SaaS and on premise applications, and drive innovation for management, functionality, and reporting between disparate mission and IT groups.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the implementation and subsequent operations of Zscaler, Cloudflare, and Illumio platforms into the Consular environment.
- Support of the development of the Operational Readiness Documentation that is consistent with the associated Systems Requirements Document, before transitioning to Operations.
- Develop and maintain monitoring processes and procedures supporting a 24/7/365 Operations Center.
- Support of all updates to all documents when there is change in the network design and/or technologies and collaborating with all stakeholders to test all related systems and application migration processes to verify that the systems meet requirements and can host applications with no degradation to performance or security.
- Preparation of test reports and Implementation Plans for each change impacting the network environment
- Configuring and deploying the solutions to ensure that it effectively filters and monitors incoming traffic. This involves defining rules, policies, and security settings tailored to the specific needs of the applications you are protecting.
- Monitor logs and alerts to promptly detect and respond to potential security incidents and respond appropriately following standard operating procedures.
- Perform routine audits and assessments of configurations and rules to ensure effective security remains
- Manage user access controls in cloud environments.
- Work closely with developers and application teams to understand the functionality and behavior of applications.
- Monitor the performance and its impact on the application's speed and responsiveness
- Maintain patch and upgrades to the environments within your responsibility.
- Perform firewall administration and troubleshooting duties for other consular network protection platforms such as Palo Alto, AWS, Azure, Forcepoint, and Cisco firewalls as needed.
- Provide technical leadership and technical guidance on projects
- Participate in internal workshops and provide presentations of the proposed solutions
- Provide on and off hours support to perform upgrades and patches
Basic Qualifications
- US Citizenship and an active SECRET Government Security Clearance.
- BS/MS Information Technology; Computer Science plus 5+ years of experience or high school diploma/GED with 9+ years of experience
- Fundamental understanding and experience in TCP/IP networking
- Experience in firewall policy administration
- Experience with analyzing logs and packet captures
- Requires hands-on experience in Network Design, Network Engineering, Network Operational Support, and cloud engineering experience of Medium to Large enterprise network environments.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with Linux operating systems
· Experience implementing the ZScaler CASB solution in an enterprise.
· Experience with Zscaler or related Data Loss Prevention (DLP) practices and policies.
· Experience with managing user access controls in cloud environments.
· Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, VMware vCenter, cloud computing concepts
· Experience with cloud reporting with preparation for both internal and executive stakeholders
· Experience migrating from legacy on-prem networking to the cloud networking
· Experience with traditional on-premises proxies
· Experience with cloud-based proxy concepts
· Experience with Cloud Identity and Access Management
· Experience deploying and managing virtual servers on premise and in the cloud
· Experience with concepts and operations of cloud-based on physical load balancers
· Experience with implementing and exporting audit trails
· Experience with cloud-based monitoring solutions
