Job Overview: The IT Systems Engineer will design, maintain, and support technology infrastructure for clinical applications, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) and diagnostic systems. This role focuses on system integration, security, and support to optimize IT performance in healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Support & Maintenance: Design, implement, and manage servers, networks, storage, and other IT infrastructure to support healthcare applications, including EHR and diagnostic tools.
- System Integration: Integrate healthcare IT systems with cloud platforms like Microsoft 365 and Azure to streamline workflows and enable data exchange across applications.
- Security & Compliance: Support security protocols and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH). Conduct regular audits, monitor for security risks, and assist in evaluating new software or solutions.
- User Support & Issue Resolution: Act as a primary escalation point for technical issues related to clinical systems, networks, and medical devices. Work with the System Administrator to troubleshoot issues and resolve Help Desk tickets promptly.
- Cloud & Backup Management: Oversee cloud-based services, manage robust backup systems, and participate in disaster recovery planning to ensure data continuity.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Teams: Partner with clinical and administrative staff to identify IT needs and enhance system performance, ensuring medical technologies effectively support patient care.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, operating procedures, updates, and incidents. Support reporting on system performance and compliance activities.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in managing Microsoft Windows 10/11 workstations, Entra (Azure AD), Intune, Microsoft 365, Azure, and other cloud solutions.
- Experience in troubleshooting Windows PCs, iOS, and Android devices in both office and clinical environments.
- Familiarity with healthcare IT systems (e.g., EHR, telehealth, PACS) and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).
- Skilled with IT tools such as RMM, asset management, and ticketing systems.
- Strong scripting and automation abilities using PowerShell.
- Capable of working independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup management solutions.
Education, Experience, and Additional Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred; relevant experience or certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, healthcare IT) may substitute.
- 2-3 years of experience in IT system engineering, preferably within a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure), SharePoint, and healthcare-specific applications.
- Familiar with security and compliance practices within healthcare environments.
