Summary:
RF-SMART is currently seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator. The IT Systems Administrator maintains and supports the integrity of the operating system environment and various computer systems; including but not limited to SharePoint, Microsoft 365 (including understanding of EntraID, Intune, OAuth(2), SAML, MDM, SCIM, certificate management, etc.), Slack, AWS, laptop imaging and patching, performance monitoring and logging tools, and third party software management packaging, patching and tools. This role will report to the Director of IT.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Continuously monitor performance, utilization, and availability while identifying opportunities for optimization, performance tuning, alerting and event correlation.
- Investigate and troubleshoot A.W.S. and Microsoft cloud and infrastructure-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, network issues, and service outages.
- Assist with deployment automation and maintaining infrastructure consistency across desktop, server, and mobile environments ensuring that the information is current and complete.
- Evaluates systems applications and ensures we are delivering the best IT value to accomplish all defined requirements while ensuring a cost-effective solution.
- Works closely with IT management to transform business goals into technically accurate solutions to deliver new capabilities while ensuring that changes to the environment are managed for continuous service.
- Handle Service Desk escalations and perform root cause analysis for critical incidents and implement preventive measures to avoid future issues.
- Administer, install, and troubleshoot a variety of operating systems.
- Monitors and report on software profiles and licensing.
- Hands-On ongoing administration and collaboration with internal business teams and partners to ensure computing services both in the office and remotely.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Cloud computing, IT infrastructure management, or systems administration.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure including Azure, M365, Entra in a mid-sized company in a hybrid in-office/remote configuration. Additional experience with AWS is beneficial.
- Has a working knowledge of cloud services infrastructure, server, laptop, and mobile device management.
- Automation, Power Platform, and PowerShell knowledge is highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of business practices with fundamental understanding of project management methodology.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Maintains strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations.
