You Are
We are seeking an entry-level Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team and play a key role in improving and maintaining our organization’s BitSight Reputation Score. In this role, you will assist in monitoring, analyzing, and mitigating cybersecurity risks to enhance our security posture and improve our reputation with third-party risk scoring platforms like BitSight. The Opportunity
- Monitor BitSight Score: Regularly review and monitor the company’s BitSight security rating to identify key factors contributing to the score and areas for improvement.
- Incident Management: Assist in identifying, documenting, and tracking security incidents that may impact the BitSight score, working closely with the senior security team to prioritize and resolve them.
- Vulnerability Management: Help coordinate patching, updates, and remediation efforts for known vulnerabilities affecting our external security posture, including open ports, outdated software, and misconfigurations.
- Third-Party Risk: Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to manage risks identified through BitSight, ensuring that any issues that could negatively affect our score are addressed in a timely manner.
- Compliance Support: Assist in aligning cybersecurity practices with industry standards and regulatory requirements to improve overall security standing.
- Data Analysis: Support the analysis of network traffic, threat intelligence, and other security data to detect trends or issues that might negatively impact the BitSight score.
- Report Generation: Assist in creating regular reports and presentations on the company’s BitSight score trends, security metrics, and action plans for management.
- Cyber Hygiene Practices: Promote best practices for security hygiene within the company, helping reduce risks from common threats like phishing, malware, and social engineering.

What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Knowledge of basic cybersecurity concepts, such as firewalls, encryption, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Familiarity with security rating platforms like BitSight, RiskRecon, or SecurityScorecard is a plus.
- Understanding of common cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, CIS Controls).
- Basic knowledge of network security and cloud security concepts.
- Preferred Skills:
- Previous internship or experience in a cybersecurity or IT role.
- Familiarity with threat intelligence and security operations centers (SOC).
- Basic understanding of security tools such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), vulnerability scanners, and firewalls.

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: California
Compensation Range: $60,000-$90,000
Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).
All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
