We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Loss Control Consultant to join our esteemed Commercial Lines team, focusing on the Atlantic South region. In this pivotal role, you will provide vital risk management and loss control services to our valued clients. Your responsibilities will include gathering essential risk assessment information for our underwriting team, assessing potential risks associated with various accounts, and delivering actionable recommendations to effectively mitigate those risks.
This position is primarily field-based, with a focus on Northern and Central Delaware. While we prefer candidates residing in Wilmington, Newark, or Dover, DE, as well as Southeast Pennsylvania (greater Philadelphia area), we are open to considering other locations for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field visits and perform both on-site and remote risk surveys.
- Manage internal report reviews to ensure compliance with established recommendations and guidelines.
- Gather objective data on various accounts, providing insightful risk information to underwriters that aligns with established regulations.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with insured clients and associated agents.
- Develop, implement, and execute property and casualty service plans aimed at driving impactful risk reduction.
- Collaborate with market partners, including underwriting and distribution, to provide additional feedback on accounts and identify high hazard exposures.
- Ensure that risk surveys and reports present informative, clear insights into potential risk factors.
- Effectively prioritize and manage work assignments, delivering reports on pre-bind assessments, new business, renewals, and large account service programs in accordance with established standards and timelines.
- Maintain all necessary professional designations and certifications mandated by regulatory bodies for loss control services.
- Adhere to all departmental guidelines and consult with management as needed on various accounts.
- Represent a professional and positive image to clients, agents, and internal stakeholders.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and be open to overnight travel, as needed, up to 30% of the time.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Safety Management, Risk Management, or a related field.
- A demonstrated commitment to ongoing self-development through professional insurance designations (CSP, CIH, PE, CPCU, etc.).
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in property/casualty insurance, including at least 3 years specifically as a loss control representative.
- Proven track record in planning and executing risk reduction services with clients.
