Head of Information Security (CISO level)
Position Overview
The Head of Information Security is responsible for leading the information security strategy and implementation across the organization. This role involves managing a team, that you build, of security professionals, developing security policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements to protect the organization's information assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Build, lead and manage the information security team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
- Establish and maintain security policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
- Oversee the implementation and management of security technologies including SIEM, firewalls, and IAM solutions. Build an Identity and Access Management program.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate security best practices into business operations.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring effective communication and remediation efforts.
- Stay updated with the latest security trends, threats, and technology solutions to continuously improve the organization's security posture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) are a plus.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing security policies and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of governance frameworks and compliance requirements, including NIST standards.
- Experience with security technologies such as SIEM, firewalls, email security and IAM solutions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
We offer a strong base salary of $180,000 to $250,000 plus depending on experience.
