Chief Information Officer
General Summary
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Archbold Medical Center is a senior executive role responsible for leading the strategic planning, implementation, and management of all information technology (IT) initiatives across the healthcare system. The CIO will leverage technology to improve patient care, streamline operations, ensure data security, and enhance overall system efficiency. As a member of the executive leadership team, the CIO will work closely with clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders to drive innovation and ensure that the organization’s IT systems support its mission and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with Archbold Medical Center’s mission, vision, and business objectives.
Act as a visionary for the future of technology in healthcare, keeping the organization at the forefront of industry trends.
Collaborate with executive leaders to understand operational needs and develop technology solutions that enhance service delivery, patient care, and productivity.
Oversee all IT operations, including infrastructure, applications, security, and data management, ensuring a secure, stable, and high-performing environment.
Direct the implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of electronic health records (EHR) and other clinical information systems to optimize patient care.
Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare IT regulations, such as HIPAA, to safeguard patient and organizational data.
Develop and enforce policies and protocols for cybersecurity and data protection to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Lead risk assessment initiatives and collaborate with compliance and legal departments to mitigate potential data breaches and system vulnerabilities.
Champion the integration of new technologies, including AI, telemedicine, and data analytics, to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, identifying and implementing advanced tools and solutions that can streamline processes.
Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and professional growth.
Manage IT budget and resources effectively, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high service standards.
Manage relationships with IT vendors, consultants, and contractors, negotiating contracts and ensuring optimal service delivery.
Engage with various stakeholders, including clinicians, administrators, and external partners, to gather input and maintain alignment on technology projects.
Participates as a member of IS leadership and steering teams to represent the needs and requirements of the provider community.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field required.
- Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Certified Healthcare CIO (CHDIO), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum of progressive IT experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a healthcare organization.

Physical Demands
Good physical and mental health. Must use good body mechanics. Must possess visual acuity with corrective lenses to read printed material, hearing ability with auditory aids to understand the normal speaking voice without viewing the speaker, and speaking ability to ask and answer pertinent questions and relay information. Must be able to work under stressful conditions and handle multiple priorities. Must be able to work under supervision or independently as directed by the situation.
