An organization are seeking an Associate Director of Cyber Security
Job Summary
Assist the Chief Information Security Officer with creating and maintaining a cyber security program and leading the Georgia Tech Cyber Security team in maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Institute information assets and managing cyber security related compliance. Responsible for leading some of the investigation of and response to cyber security incidents. Act on behalf of the Chief Info Security Officer in his/her absence. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: External and internal leadership, management, stakeholders, staff, and law enforcement agencies. This position typically will advise and counsel: External and internal leadership, management, and staff. This position will supervise: May supervise Cyber Security staff.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 –
Duties may include but are not limited to: Direct operations of the Cyber Security engineering team to design, develop, and deploy cyber security solutions that provide prevention, detection, and response capabilities.
Job Duty 2 –
Direct operations of the Cyber Security operations team to monitor all security systems for incidents, respond to incidents, manage vulnerabilities, and lead the digital forensics program.
Job Duty 3 –
Direct operations of the Cyber Security policy and compliance team to design, develop, and promulgate Institute cyber policy and ensure compliance with relevant cyber regulation.
Job Duty 4 –
Identify cyber risk and vulnerabilities and lead the response efforts for all major cyber incidents, including partnership with law enforcement agencies.
Job Duty 5 –
Assist in defining the vision, mission, objectives, and goals of the Institute cyber security program, and manage the team budget.
Job Duty 6 –
Provide cyber security risk management leadership in support of the academic, research, and administrative mission and goals of the Institute.
Job Duty 7 –
Assist in defining security metrics and reporting mechanisms to measure the ongoing success of the Cyber Security team.
Job Duty 8 –
Partner with Information Technology and Institute leadership to ensure institute initiative and programs incorporate appropriate controls and standards to manage risk and safeguard information/data assets belonging to, or entrusted to the Institute.
Job Duty 9 –
Collaborate with the University System of Georgia and the Georgia Technology Authority to ensure the policies of Georgia Tech, the University System of Georgia, and the state support the efforts of the Institute.
Job Duty 10 –
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Qualifications
Overnight travel required for project delivery; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours (due to client shift schedules, project requirements).
Required Experience
Five to seven years of job related experience

One or more additional security related certifications Demonstrated success in understanding research university business objectives and applying appropriate process or technology solutions Strong skills in building professional relationships with peers both inside and outside of the institution Knowledge of state and/or federal procurement processes and requirements Strong knowledge of IT auditing and enterprise risk assessment Knowledge of cyber security legal and policy issues Ability to independently assess new technologies in the marketplace, determines relevance to the Georgia Tech mission, and plan for the acquisition and implementation of those technologies

Salary Range: $131,001 – $178,162
