Job Title: IBM Infrastructure Engineer
Role Type: 6 + months contract role with strong possibility of long-term extensions
Location: Reston, VA or Washington, DC – can work REMOTE, but will report onsite once a week until up and running, then onsite once a quarter
Candidates need to be currently LOCAL to the VA/DC area
ALTA IT Services is staffing a 6-month contract to hire opportunity for an IBM Infrastructure Engineer to support a leading health insurance customer.
In this role, you will focus on maintaining and troubleshooting our server infrastructure, conducting health checks, and ensuring systems respond optimally across network environments. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for infrastructure health and operational efficiency, with experience in infrastructure and system support across the SDLC.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering across the entire SDLC.
Strong background with IBM technology stacks and related frameworks.
Proven skills in server troubleshooting and network monitoring.
Experience with vendor management in an infrastructure or operations setting.
Working knowledge of AWS (Amazon Web Services).Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive troubleshooting for server installations, including regular system health checks to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Work closely with network teams to monitor infrastructure, diagnose network responses, and resolve any issues as they arise.
Engage with and manage relationships with vendors to coordinate and support infrastructure needs.
Establish and maintain frameworks for effective infrastructure management and ensure all systems align with company standards and objectives.
Apply your AWS experience to integrate and support cloud-based solutions where required.
