Our Customer Acceleration Team (CAT) is part of the Customer Experience Engineering (CxE) organization and works very closely with product engineering, Microsoft field, Sales, Marketing, strategic customers, and partners. We create deep engineering relationships with the product engineering teams to learn about the features, capabilities and service architecture of the Azure Network Security products, and then educate Microsoft field, our customers, and our partners how to best deploy and use our products. We create automations, threat detections, and governance policies that are published in our GitHub repository to be leveraged by our customers. The Cloud Security Customer Engineering Experience (CxE) team is looking for a Product Manager to work in the Azure Network Security Customer Acceleration Team, whose mission is to help our customer successfully deploy and to drive usage of our Azure DDoS, Azure Firewall and Azure Web Application Firewall products.
As a Network Security - CAT Product Manager, you'll play an important role in shaping our security product engineering, enabling customers to protect themselves, and enabling Microsoft field to position and architect Azure Network Security solutions.
Responsibilities
The role is a member of Azure Network Security CAT team and responsible to gather and synthesize customer, partner, and Microsoft field product feedback and feature requests. Share product feedback with product engineering to continuously innovate product capabilities. To develop content to scale product deployment and to educate Microsoft field and partners to successfully position and architect our security solutions.
The Product Manager’s Specific Responsibilities Include
- Subject Matter Expert: Be a subject matter expert (level 300 and 400) in the Azure DDoS, Azure Firewall and Azure Web Application Firewall products. Have a 200-level understanding of Log Analytics, Microsoft Sentinel, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud. Be a trusted advisor to Microsoft field, customers and product engineering. Use your cloud security skills to improve our Azure Network Security products/services, help customers get and stay secure by helping them with deploying our security solutions.
- Advocate for our customers: Capture the voice of the customers and synthesize quantitative and qualitative feedback into actionable recommendations in a prioritized manner. Relentlessly champion customer voice to engineering teams and be a change agent to develop innovative ways to handle customer scenarios and resolve complex issues.
- Practice Microsoft Culture: Growth mindset, One Microsoft, and Customer Obsessed, and Diverse and inclusive. Collaborate and work with a global high performing team to help customers learn and deploy our Azure Network Security products, to educate Microsoft field and third-party partners, and identify technical blockers and gather feature requests and share them with product teams.
- Drive Objectives and Key Results: Own and drive key results to enable the services to achieve business objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders to define product specific business objectives and rationalize, prioritize, and execute tasks to successfully achieve goals.
- Effectively communicate with quantitative and qualitative data to stakeholders across Microsoft in business reviews.
- Partner Development: Collaborate across Security CxE, Microsoft Field cybersecurity and third-party Partners in supporting skills transfers across our Microsoft Partners ecosystem to empower our customers, and drive scalability. Quality documentation and effectively educate others about Cloud Security solutions both in internal and external events (Executive Briefing Center – EBC, Webinars, conferences).
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of cybersecurity domains in Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud services
Other Requirements
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of Network Security (including firewalls and DDoS solutions) and Application Security
- Knowledge of general/cloud networking, network architecture and hybrid/multicloud networking
- Knowledge of Azure infrastructure including Azure Networking, Log Analytics and Azure Logic Apps
- Intermediate technical knowledge of Azure Network Security products
- Product/program management experience working with multiple stakeholders
- Customer facing experience
- Ability to understand business objectives and focus on delivering success
- Ability to build deep technical relationships with internal teams and customers
Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
