Job Summary for IT Director (Healthcare)

Key Responsibilities:
- IT Planning & Support: Assist in planning and executing IT initiatives that align with business goals, ensuring efficient deployment and management of technology systems.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with internal teams and external vendors to develop and maintain technology solutions that meet departmental needs and organizational goals.
- Day-to-Day Operations Management: Oversee daily IT operations, including systems administration, desktop support, and network management, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted service.
- Team Supervision: Manage and support a team of IT professionals, handling hiring, training, and performance management to foster a productive and knowledgeable team.
- System Maintenance & Upgrades: Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and regular upgrading of IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring they meet organizational and security requirements.
- IT Policy & Compliance: Develop, communicate, and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and industry best practices.
- Data Security: Implement and manage security protocols to protect data integrity and ensure adherence to healthcare security standards.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze IT performance metrics, preparing regular reports on system efficiency, security, and ongoing IT initiatives for senior management.
- Industry Trends & Innovation: Stay current with industry trends, particularly in healthcare IT, and identify opportunities for technology enhancements that could improve operational efficiency and service quality.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in IT with a technical background as a systems administrator or systems engineer, possessing a versatile, generalist skill set across multiple IT domains.
- Skills: Strong communication skills for translating technical concepts to non-technical audiences, analytical problem-solving abilities, project management understanding, and a proven track record in leadership and team coordination.
