My client is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) they are specialist insurance business, this is a strategic high-level position responsible for aligning technology initiatives with the business goals.
The CIO oversees the design, implementation, and management of information systems to improve the agency's efficiency, service offerings, and data security.

Job Summary
The CIO will be responsible for leading the technological direction of the business. They will provide vision and leadership for developing and implementing IT initiatives that support the growth and efficiency. The role includes managing the IT infrastructure, overseeing data management strategies, and ensuring the security and compliance of all systems and technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Vision
- Develop and execute an IT strategy that aligns with the agency’s goals and objectives.
- Work with the executive team to drive technological innovation that supports new business models, product lines, and customer experience enhancements.
- Conduct competitive analyses to stay ahead of industry trends and integrate best practices into the agency’s operations.
Technology and Infrastructure Management
- Oversee all IT infrastructure, ensuring it meets the needs of the business in terms of performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise applications and software, particularly those specific to insurance agency operations, such as CRM, underwriting, claims processing, and policy administration systems.
- Ensure robust network security, data protection, and disaster recovery solutions are in place.
Data Management and Analytics
- Develop a comprehensive data strategy, ensuring accurate, accessible, and secure data management.
- Implement and optimise data analytics systems to improve business insights, enhance underwriting processes, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Oversee compliance with data privacy and security regulations, including HIPAA, GDPR, and other insurance industry requirements.
Cybersecurity and Risk Management
- Lead cybersecurity efforts, developing and implementing policies to protect against cyber threats and data breaches.
- Conduct regular security assessments and work with third-party auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Develop a risk management framework and disaster recovery plan to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of a crisis.
Team Leadership and Development
- Build and lead a high-performing IT team, including recruiting, training, and developing staff.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor team members and provide them with the resources and guidance needed to excel.
Vendor and Budget Management
- Oversee the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective technology solutions that maximize value and return on investment.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and evaluate technology solutions from third-party providers.
Innovation and Digital Transformation
- Drive digital transformation initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies (AI, machine learning, automation) to improve efficiency and client experience.
- Introduce self-service portals, mobile applications, and other customer-facing solutions that enhance service delivery and convenience.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, in specialist insurance
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, cybersecurity protocols, data management, and CRM/ERP systems specific to the insurance industry.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other executives and departments.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CISM, CISSP, PMP) are a plus.
