Summary: Under the general direction of the Director of Information Technology, the Informaticist/Report Writer will leverage standard tools to extract, analyze, and report data from our central data repository. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, informatics, and report writing, with the ability to translate complex data sets into clear, actionable insights.

Responsibilities

Utilize standard data extraction and report writing tools to access and analyze data from our Meditech Magic, Allscripts and corporate central data repositories.
Design, develop, and maintain reports and dashboards that provide insights to various stakeholders.
Collaborate with department heads and management to understand data needs and deliver accurate and timely reports.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all reports and data extracts.
Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize data quality and efficiency.
Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques to provide ongoing reports.
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
Work closely with the IT team to prioritize business and information needs.
Provide technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.

Required

Bachelor's degree in Informatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Proven working experience as a data analyst, report writer, or informaticist.
Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, etc.), databases (SQL, etc.), and programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks).
Report writing in direct SQL coding experience in Allscripts and Meditech Magic databases
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Preferred: IT experience in a healthcare or hospital setting.
