My client are a well-known global Digital Consultancy and Agency who are looking to add a Senior Level Cloud Engineer utilising AWS and to help them on the start of their new DevOps journey as well as their transition from on-prem to an AWS cloud environment. This is an exciting greenfield project where the AWS Cloud Engineer will get the chance to manage the project fully e2e from pipeline to production. This will be a client facing role working for an exciting growing business who are VC backed. They have a well-established group in Manhattan that they are a part of however will be acting as a start up business as they are established mainly in London. This role will also offer the chance ton London and Vegas.

As a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for:

The Senior AWS Cloud Engineer will be responsible for setting up AWS within the business and imperative in transitioning the company’s internal DevOps and CICD environment and setting up the Cloud strategy for the business
Training junior members of the team in AWS, Cloud and DevOps best practices, assisting in growing and nurturing the Cloud and DevOps team
Working in a DevOps role focussed on AWS, CloudFront, WAF, Lambda and API Gateways
Using Terraform for IaC and GitHub Actions for building CICD pipelines
You will also utilise Observability with tools like Dynatrace or DataDog, work on Networking with AWS Firewalls, VPCs and Subnets
Working with Monorepos and modern front-end tooling like NX and pnpm
Be responsible for implementing the CI/CD toolchain as part of a DevOps environment
Perform tasks related to Site Reliability Engineering and other infrastructure/pipeline work as needed to support the overarching Systems team effort.
Dealing with a variety of customers in a consultative manner being able to assist them from a DevOps Pre-Sales perspective through to delivery.

Experience required for the Senior Level AWS Cloud Engineer role:

Proven DevOps experience focussed on AWS, CloudFront, WAF, Lambda and API Gateways
A good understanding of DevOps principles and working in a CICD environment
Use of Terraform for IaC and GitHub Actions for building CICD pipelines would be key

Nice to have experience would include Observability experience with tools like Dynatrace or DataDog, work on Networking with AWS Firewalls, VPCs and Subnets as well as working with Monorepos and modern front-end tooling like NX and pnpm

Team leadership or mentoring experience – being able to train them on best practices in Cloud, AWS, DevOps and CICD will be key to this role
Experience working agency side or for a consultancy and not only end user side so that you have an understanding of the nuances of being client facing and sometimes ‘wearing many hats’ where needed

This role is FTE perm position which will be offering a competitive base salary, bonus, Medical, Dental & Vision cover and 401K. This will be working for a global Digital Consultancy brand in and the role will be hybrid with some remote work and then 2 days per week in the office in Manhattan, NYC.
