Dumfries and Galloway IJB/Health and Social Care Partnership are seeking to appoint an Interim Deputy Chief Operating Officer.

We are looking for an experienced, compassionate, inclusive leader who communicates an inspiring vision and energises and empowers teams to deliver impactful outcomes for our people and staff populations.

This post is fixed term (12 months) in nature due to a review of the senior structure working across the IJB and the Health and Social Care Partnership.

The post-holder must have significant senior level operational leadership experience from a healthcare and/or social care setting, you will bring expertise in working across organisational boundaries and a track record of innovation and change, as well as a focus for driving forward further integration with a focus on making improvements for our people and staff.

The appointed individual will need to demonstrate resilience, exceptional influencing skills with the ability to work in a truly integrated approach.

This position would be suitable for someone looking for a development opportunity and considering a future Chief Operating Officer or Chief Officer role; secondments would be considered.

Reporting directly to the Interim Chief Officer / Chief Operating Officer this role will play an instrumental part in enabling and driving operational excellence across the Health and Social Care Partnership and with key partners such as Third and Independent Sector.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
