The Information Systems Division works in collaboration with programs and county agencies, to provide solutions to systems that assist families access essentials such as, but not limited to, medical services, care providers, groceries, and transportation.

The Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) is the Security Monitoring Specialist within the Information Security and Privacy Office (ISPO) and ensures information technology security standards and procedures are developed and maintained in accordance with the State Administrative Manual, Statewide Information Management Manual and CDSS strategic objectives. The position is responsible for the vulnerability management program including implementing and configuring scanning solutions and identifying and tracking vulnerabilities through the remediation process.

Duties include the following: identifying and analyzing network security appliance logs. Reviewing log activity that is not normally detectable through security appliances. Providing mitigation suggestions in the context of a security incident, as it relates to the technical analysis of PHSIHING, Malware, Anti-Virus or other artifacts. Identifying vulnerabilities and misconfigurations in applications and systems that pose risks to CDSS, conducting vulnerability assessments for networks, applications and operating systems, developing tests and maintaining applications used to perform vulnerability scanning, managing and tracking the remediation of identified vulnerabilities, coordinating and monitoring deployment of security patches on a timely basis and supporting confidential investigations consistent with the CDSS Policy.

This position also supports program leads with development, implementation and maintenance of Information Security tools including Security Information Event Management (SIEM), intrusion detection, and event logs for design and implementation of alerts, reports, and monitoring compliance. Participate in annual risk and technical standards compliance reviews for Systems and IT projects as needed. Conduct quality assurance monitoring of all system changes. Review network status to ensure production changes do not have a negative impact on the network. Validate production changes have been through the “change management process”.
