System Administrator

Type: Contract to hire/Hybrid

The IT Monitoring and Observability Administrator will play a pivotal role in ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of IT infrastructure and applications through comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions. This individual will collaborate with IT operations, development, and security teams to implement best practices and maintain cutting-edge monitoring tools and platforms. The role will involve developing strategies, analyzing data, and providing insights that enable proactive management of IT systems and services.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement monitoring and observability strategies, standards, and best practices to optimize IT infrastructure and applications.
Design, deploy, and manage the Relic platform and other monitoring tools to ensure full visibility across all systems.
Collect, analyze, and visualize metrics, logs, traces, and events to provide end-to-end observability across the IT landscape.
Create and maintain dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide real-time insights for IT operations, development, and security teams.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to monitoring systems, ensuring seamless observability and performance optimization.
Provide guidance and training to IT teams on effective use of monitoring and observability tools.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the monitoring and observability domain to recommend and implement innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in an IT Monitoring and Observability role, with a deep understanding of IT infrastructure and application technologies.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in IT monitoring, observability administration, or engineering.
Expertise with Relic and similar monitoring platforms, with the ability to deploy and manage such tools effectively.
Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible) to enhance monitoring and alerting processes.
Knowledge of various IT environments, including Linux, Windows, Azure, network, database, and web technologies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Certifications in IT monitoring and observability platforms are highly desirable.

Additional Qualifications:

System administration experience.
Application performance testing experience.
Professional credentials related to IT Monitoring and Observability tools or platforms are a plus.
