Maven is seeking a System Administrator with a strong background in Microsoft and cloud technologies on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis. This role is essential for managing IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and secure. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in smaller, agile environments to join a Columbus-based startup that is growing rapidly.

Position Summary:

The System Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining Microsoft-based IT systems, with a significant focus on cloud infrastructure. The candidate must be local to the Columbus, OH area, as on-site presence will be required to support the startup’s IT needs. The role offers the potential to transition to a full-time position after the 6-month contract period, based on performance and evolving needs.

Key Responsibilities:

System Administration: Manage and maintain Microsoft-based IT infrastructure, including M365, Azure environments, and cloud services.
Cloud Management: Oversee cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
Hardware Management: Manage the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, including servers, networking equipment, and workstations.
Collaboration with Leadership: Work with leadership to ensure IT and cloud systems align with company goals and support business operations.
System Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and updates on Windows servers, Microsoft applications, and cloud platforms.
User Support: Provide technical support to internal users, assisting with Microsoft-related issues and ensuring smooth operation of IT systems.
Adaptability: Leverage experience in smaller environments to adapt to changing needs and help build scalable IT and cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a System Administrator with a strong focus on Microsoft environments (M365, Azure) and cloud technologies.
Solid knowledge of Windows server administration, cloud management, hardware management, and networking.
Prior experience working in smaller, agile environments is highly preferred.
Must be local to the Columbus, OH area.
Ability to work effectively in a small, dynamic team with a hands-on approach.
