The Cyber Security and Intelligence Specialist earns a competitive salary of $75,266 - $95,964, based on qualifications. Additionally, the city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A CYBER SECURITY AND INTELLIGENCE SPECIALIST

This Position Will

Develop policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data.
Monitor industry standards and best practices for regular enhancement of processes and procedures.
Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify existing vulnerabilities, anticipated risks, and protection needs.
Validate IT infrastructure and other technology for security best practices and recommend changes to enhance security and reduce risk where applicable.
Monitor for and assess security events to determine impact, create tactical responses incidents, and implement corrective action.
Conduct system security evaluations, audits, and reviews. Participate in network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policies.
Researches, evaluates, and recommends information security solutions including hardware, software, and contract services.
Develop and maintain security architecture that enables the City to implement solutions that are aligned with business requirements, technology investments, and threat landscape.
Implement, configure, upgrade and maintain security products in the City's environment.
Create, develop, and implement cyber security incident response and recovery efforts.

What Are the Qualifications?

Requires Bachelor's degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in business, liberal arts, or any field other than engineering or the hard sciences.
Requires five years of progressive experience in an IT related position with an emphasis on security.
