About
Results-driven professional with a full understanding of industry best practices, company policies and procedures; extensive experience in full SDLC, designing, administering, testing, and supporting next generation database solutions in SQL Server, Oracle, and AWS cloud environments. I have experience working in cross-functional teams and good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining optimal solutions when it comes to performance, security, and integrity of databases.
I take pride assuring:
• Data is clearly defined and remains consistent across the database
• Fast response times for end users to access data concurrently in the form that suits their needs
• Data is secure, recoverable, and available in an emergency
• Only authorized users have access to the data, using the principle of least privilege
• Backup and recovery strategies are well tested, documented and managed
• The physical model design meets system storage requirements
• Data procedures, definitions (for the data dictionary) and standards, including adherence to Data Protection Act are well documented and maintained
• Access to data is controlled via the use of stored procedures, views and triggers
Key projects include:
• Implementing a back-end database solution for leveraging contact-tracing of COVID-19 related data in a hybrid platform using a combination of AWS and SQL Server/ Oracle solutions.
• Developing an employee tracking system, from feasibility analysis to defining system requirements, system testing and implementation.
