JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior System Engineer position

is a

dministration of cloud and datacenter systems and platforms that support Marker Trax solutions.

SCOPE:

The primary scope of work is to support the technology services of Marker Trax by

using best practices for systems maintenance and security, and promoting innovation

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Support and promote a secure software development lifecycle by working closely with developers, QA and project management teams.
● Provide advanced troubleshooting support to corporate IT and assist with administration of systems including Jira, Confluence, and other business tools.
● Perform security remediation, patching and systems hardening using vulnerability management tools, scanners, and anti-malware software.
● Assist with troubleshoot issues for production systems including the MTX core, virtual and universal appliances and work with the respective support teams, developers, and partners.
● Automate routine tasks and systems maintenance where possible by creating scripts and using standard automation tools.
● Help promote security awareness with Marker Trax staff and general improvements to its security and compliance posture.
● Provide technical architecture guidance and best practices for the technology team.
● Examine and improve processes for release management include proper coding, application scanning, data refresh and supporting processes for secure SDLC.
● Manage the non-production environments and ensure proper network isolation and segmentation is implemented using best practices guidelines for applicable framerworks including OWASP SAMM and MITRE attack framework.

Assist in post deployment support, systems migrations, upgrades and refresh cycles

Work closely with the QA team to ensure they have adequate capabilities to carry out an effective QA program including setting adequate logical access controls, automating test scripts, and administration of QA environments.

Assist with general technology projects that may include evaluation and risk assessments, proof of concept work and compliance and privacy related efforts.
●
Support and enforce sound software development practices including continuous delivery and integration, code scanning, open-source scanning, and change management.
● Available to travel with advanced notice.
● Available for on-call responsibilities.
KEY SUCCESS INDICATORS:
● Maintain software versions by patching and upgrading to supported levels.
● Implementing technology and security controls to provide a stable and
responsive technology solution to our customers.
● Control costs by using technology investments efficiently and monitoring and reporting capacity consumption.
OTHER DUTIES:
● Must comply with company policies and operating procedure manual
● Adhere to confidentiality rules and all other company policies, procedure and
rules as presented by Marker Trax.
● Perform other job duties as assigned and participate in special projects at
management’s request
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

● Advanced expertise in managing and maintaining cloud and datacenter technology infrastructures including servers, databases, network and firewalls

● This position will have the ability to work remotely with management

approval. This candidate must be diligent to work when work is needed and

achieve the goals and deliverables required in the business. The hours of work

may fall outside of normal business hours (9:00 am – 5:00 pm) if the work

requires it.

● Proficient in AWS and Google Cloud Platform administration
● Proficient in supporting and enforcing sound software development practices
including continuous delivery and integration, code scanning, open source
scanning, and change management
● Proficient in hypervisors (VMWare, ProxMox, Hyper-V), operating systems
(Windows, Linux, MacOS) and maintaining updates and upgrades, patching
and general management
● Expertise in incident handling, including investigation and remediation, or
resolving issues
● Expertise in disaster recovery and business continuity processes for technology
including backups and restore testing, failover testing, recovery objectives, and
general preparedness
● Expertise in malware and adversary tactics to maintain adequate Marker Trax
security posture
● Proficient in implementing and maintaining IT controls for regulatory and non-
regulatory compliance including PCI-DSS, SOX and MICS (Nevada Gaming
standards) are a plus
● Proficient with tools for threat intelligence, anti-fraud and SIEM are highly
desired
● Experience in gaming and payments is a plus
● All skills and experience require at least 8 years of experience in roles that may
encompass systems administration or engineering, cyber security, devops or secure devops, compliance and general security analyst roles.

▪ Occasionally must be able to move and lift office equipment and materials up
to 25 pounds.
▪ Work is performed in an office environment behind a desk with a three-foot
access where the noise level is usually low.
