Robert Half is partnering a medium sized business in need of a Systems Administrator. Candidate responsibilities include desktop and network administration, field technology support and back-up support for applications. A great customer service attitude is key as this position supports the headquarters management and administration teams as well as our field sales force. As key member of IT, the position is responsible for implementing, monitoring, managing, and supporting the network/security/hardware environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Network administration: backup, security management, user account management, e-mail systems, internet access, printers, and other attached devices.
- Perform system upgrades to enhance server capacity or performance.
- Install hardware upgrades, software upgrades.
- Maintain systems to operate 7x24 with high availability.
- Proactively monitors and maintains servers to meet established uptime service levels.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system problems.
- Complete and close assigned trouble tickets and work orders to meet established service levels.
- Prepare and maintain system documentation and procedures.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies that complement and expand the functionality of company computing services.
- Assists with technology planning through ongoing research.
- Manages small to medium sized projects according to budgets and schedules.
- Other duties as assigned.
Technical Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Desktop support for most major desktop products including Windows, Office, Internet Explorer.

- Demonstrated knowledge of key technologies listed above or related experience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills: able to work with technicians from various engineering disciplines to troubleshoot complex system-level issues.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) from four-year college or university and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Senior Administrator level experience with Network, and Windows.
- Experience with Windows Server Update Services.
- Experience with Hardware support and Maintenance.
- Experience in a structured, process-oriented Information Technology environment.
- Background and familiarity with Windows and Active Directory desirable.
- Familiarity with backup/disaster recovery.
- Working knowledge of virtualization in VMWare.
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) designation preferred.
- ActiveSync Devise Support / Network device configuration.
- Windows Scripting a plus.
