Role: Director of Information Technology
Job Summary: The IT Director will oversee and manage the company's technology operations and the implementation of new IT systems and policies. This role includes managing the IT staff and leading technology infrastructure, software development, information security, and vendor management initiatives.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Direct operations in support of the IT department, including computer operations, technical support, systems analysis, and security.
- Oversee IT projects in software development, infrastructure, and security.
- Ensure the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions.
- Manage IT staff by recruiting, training, and coaching employees, communicating job expectations, and appraising their performance.
- Oversee the outsourced help desk, reviewing metrics and ticket data to ensure optional performance and internal customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, backups, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers, ensuring contracts and service levels are negotiated and executed in line with company goals.
- Ensure the security of data, network access, and backup systems.
- Identify problematic areas and implement appropriate solutions to address.
- Define and maintain data retention polices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Proven experience as an IT Manager or similar role
- Experience in analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications.
- Deep understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks
- Experience in controlling information technology budgets.
- Experience managing or supervising a help desk team.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication abilities
- Vendor management experience
Skills:
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong technical knowledge of network and client operating systems, including cloud services and security
- Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards
