The Florida Apartment Association, of which the First Coast Apartment Association (FCAA) is an affiliate, is assisting the FCAA Board of Directors and Selection Committee with job candidate outreach. All hiring decisions will be made by the FCAA Selection Committee and Leadership.
The First Coast Apartment Association is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, ethical, and articulate individual to fill the Executive Vice President (EVP) position. The Executive Vice President will be the Chief Staff Executive (CSE) for the First Coast Apartment Association located in Northeast Florida (Greater Jacksonville area). The EVP will carry out board policy, offer proactive assistance in meeting the board's strategic plan goals, and develop a close working relationship with volunteer leaders.
This position will work directly with the FCAA Board of Directors, Directors Emeritus, Committee Chairs, and volunteer leaders. The EVP manages and directs all operations, team members, programs, and activities of the association. They will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and reporting out an annual budget with the assistance of the Treasurer as well as monitoring all financial and accounting activities for the organization. The EVP will hire, supervise, and evaluate all FCAA Staff.
In addition, the Executive Vice President will oversee all advocacy efforts for the association. They will engage with local, state, and federal lawmakers on issues that affect the multifamily industry.
Accounting and Financial Management
- Develop an annual FCAA budget with the help of the Treasurer
- Approve all financial disbursements and otherwise monitor all financial and accounting activities of the organization
- Process all payments and deposits in a timely fashion
- Oversee payroll for association staff
- Create timely financial reports for review by the Board of Directors
Governance
- Complete 4 (Quarterly) Board of Directors meetings annually
- Create and maintain necessary minutes and records for board meetings
- Report regularly to the Board of Directors and otherwise ensure that the board is fully informed of all activities
- Uphold and adhere to the policies and bylaws of the organization
- Implement the policy decisions and directives of the Board of Directors
- Provide leadership and policy guidance for the association
- Have a working knowledge of governance and meeting structures
- Advise the Board of Directors in a timely fashion of any developments which may affect the organization’s wellbeing
- Provide policy guidance and leadership to the Board of Directors
Management
- Manage and Direct all operations, programs, and activities of the association
- Hire, supervise, and evaluate all office staff
- Maintain organizational records, files, documents, and archives
- Ensure that the association can meet or exceed all required NAA standards
- Enter into contracts on the behalf of the association, with the approval of the Board of Directors
- Regularly inform the membership at large of association activities
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive board and association information
- Prepare agendas, newsletters, reports, daily correspondence, and other necessary materials and communications
- Positively represent FCAA at Florida Apartment Association events and National Apartment Association events
- Ensure that all required tax documents are filed annually
- Manage and maintain the FCAA office
Advocacy
- Engage with local, state, and federal elected officials on issues that affect the apartment industry
- Oversee and liaison the Legislative Committee
- Focus on fundraising and annual PAC donation goals for both FAA and NAA
