Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Firewall Administrator at Wurth IT USA (3 days onsite). This position plays a key role in troubleshooting, managing, and maintaining our organization’s firewalls.
Responsibilities
- Configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of firewall devices to enforce network security policies.
- Regular review and update of firewall rules to ensure they align with security requirements.
- Troubleshooting and resolving network, VPN and firewall-related issues, such as connectivity and rule conflicts.
- Implementing and managing devices including logging and monitoring for security incident detection.
- Responding to security incidents and performing analysis on firewall and VPN logs
Qualifications
- 2 years of Network/Systems Administrator experience with an additional 2+ years of experience as a Firewall Engineer/Administrator
- CCNA certification preferred
- Understanding of TCP/IP, routing and switching technologies for effective network design and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of firewall technologies, including different firewall vendors (e.g. Fortinet, Cisco, Check Point, etc.).
- Ability to keep up to date with emerging threats and vulnerabilities to pro-actively enhance security measures.
- High attention to detail
- Understanding the importance of ensuring that all devices deployed globally conforming to all security standards and best practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Location
Wurth IT USA is in the process of identifying its location in Chicago, IL. We will be located in one of the northern suburbs, likely in Deerfield/Buffalo Groves/Vernon Hills area. This position requires onsite work 2-3 days per week. Since we do not have a location as of yet, the position will start working remotely and transition to a hybrid work environment once the office is set up. Please note relocation assistance is not provided.
