We currently have an opening for a VP or Director of Business Development on our Brick & Mortar team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to get involved in and positively impact many aspects of our growing business. This role has flexibility to be hybrid (having the ability to come into the office but no required schedule for doing so) or be fully remote.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- 10+ years of sales experience in consumer goods and/or housewares industry
- Business development management experience is a plus
- Experience working with mass, discount, club and other retail channels; preferably with a variety of accounts
- Experience in implementing and aggressively pursuing sales & marketing initiatives across a wide range of customer segments
- Proven ability to make smart financial decisions for the company; ability to understand ROI and sales metrics
- Skilled in mentorship, with the ability to educate and direct more junior team members on selling best practices, tips and tricks
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize work in a deadline driven environment
- Professional verbal and written communication abilities; comfortable connecting with internal and external parties
- Creative problem solver with initiative needed to suggest and complete projects in new ways
- Maintains fun and positive Honey-Can-Do attitude while working in fast-paced environment
- Strong skillset with MS Outlook and Excel and proven ability to put together PowerPoint presentations
- Ability to travel for customer meetings, line reviews, trade shows and other events as needed
Responsibilities:
- Grow revenues with new and existing customers across our entire catalog of products to meet financial targets
- Ownership of sales strategy and execution, budgets, and profitability targets for your portfolio of business
- Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual business performance reviews, ensuring KPIs and budgets are met
- Monitor and analyze market conditions, competitive landscape and other factors for quick wins and long-term business planning purposes
Job Description
- Work closely with CEO and other lead team members on sales driven initiatives/projects, acting as the business development team leader, and driving results within the sales organization
- Collaborate and drive sales development and growth efforts with support from executive leadership team
- Leverage opportunity buy and excess inventory lists for promotional opportunities with key customer segments
- Customer lead/ownership in preparing all presentation materials, leading all communications, and quarterbacking all internal projects and initiatives in support of your portfolio of business
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other Account Managers to maximize sales efforts and expand understanding of best practices
- Collaborate with Marketing and Merchandising team on ensuring best in class content and customer facing assets
- Work with Product and Merchandising teams to determine new product pipeline opportunities that maximize sales and profitability
- Collaborate with Customer Experience team to ensure SLA metrics are met or exceeded, and eliminate chargebacks
- Support the demand planning team through our S&OP process to limit cancels, OOS and improve fill rate
- Coordinate and lead JBPs, as well as quarterly internal business reviews
