Our client is a growing Saas firm that uses big data to help companies with their global shipping and freight logistics. They are looking for a Senior Systems Administrator that is highly capable of designing scalable and efficient systems in RedHat Enterprise Linux, PostgreSQL, and Apache.
Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer
Location: Remote (must be located in eastern or central time zones)
Required Skills And Responsibilities
- 10+ years of Linux Systems Administration and Engineering experience, ideally with experience working across the full life cycle of major initiatives such as cloud migrations, or virtualization efforts
- Ability to configure and manage services like Apache and PostgreSQL to support business applications
- Capable of doing design, systems architecture, as well as programming and systems integrations
- Expert understanding of Linux fundamentals like command lines and experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux versions 7-9
- Comfortable overseeing day-to-day maintenance, ensuring systems are secure, stable, and efficient
- Strong documentation skills and capable of documenting system designs, configurations, and procedures
Nice To Have Skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with teams both domestically and abroad (written and verbal)
- Experience programming and ability to write code, ideally in PHP or a similar OOP language
- Comfortable working with Systems, Engineering and DevOps teams and working collaboratively across various IT departments
- Located near Clifton, NJ and able to work in their data center as needed
Compensation
- Salary is based on experience with a target of $130,000 to $140,000
