WHO WE NEED:
A company is searching for experienced
Chief Technology Officers to consult to their highly prestigious client base. As a consultant, you will work with the Hedge Fund and Family Office clients to provide expert advice. Having previously served in the role of Chief Technology Officer you have specific, hands-on experiencing strategically building, maintaining, and operating the full technology (hardware and software) infrastructure and operations of a leading Hedge Fund or Family Office.
What You’ll Do - Provide advice and guidance to clients who seek help with their Technology needs. This will involve consulting to some of the leading Hedge Funds and Family Offices in the world and sharing your experience as a Chief Technology Officer in helping clients to:
- Develop realistic and effective monthly action plans. Identify internal and contextual roadblocks.
- Break apart goals into actionable steps.
- Devise a plan of action for each goal. Provide the client with resources associated with implementing their action plan. Implement policies, procedures, and control measures.
- Review, analyze and report on client tools and resources to ensure industry best practices.
- Evaluate each client’s advancement toward goal actualization through key performance indicators (KPIs) and scoring matrices.
- Maintain and share detailed and accurate records of consulting results (challenges, breakthroughs, etc.).
Who You Are - All aspects of the day-to-day management and oversight of the full tech stack across the organization: software (full stack, mobile/web apps, AR/VR, metaverse), hardware (IT, IoT, connected devices), cybersecurity, operations (internal, external), policies, etc.
- Develop a proactive cybersecurity, disaster recovery and business continuity planning mindset across the firm to maintain industry-leading uptime on critical technology infrastructure through great architectural decisions, successful monitoring, testing processes, and system redundancy.
- Create and manage internal teams and external vendors to develop and launch world class software and in-person products and services. Optimize and supervise IT infrastructure to ensure integrity, security, and optimal performance of an office-based and remote, distributed, and growing team of FTEs and contractors to the standards of leading financial service organizations.
- Create, manage, and monitor budgets and expenses; monitor expenses and cost control measures.
- Drive internal KPIs as a data-driven organization across all elements of technology, operations, and structure: to ensure the organization is a high-performing leader in the industry.
- Serve to align technology with all other departmental and organizational objectives.
- Proactively establish relationships and meet with current and potential customers to demonstrate the company’s credentials at solving problems with technically differentiated solutions.
- Inspire, develop, and engage a world-class team of in-house and outsourced engineers, product managers, UI/UX designers, and data scientists/engineers.
- Build industry-leading Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 experiences that create value for customers and value for the client.
- Utilize creative, thoughtful, and boundary-pushing system development strategies that unlock opportunity.
- Specific experience with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements for record-retention, email archiving, privacy policies, data protection and other technology regulatory/compliance requirements.
Qualifications - A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus. 8+ years of proven experience as a CTO at a hedge fund, investment management firm or family office.
- Cybersecurity and software development expert
- Experience building and leading world-class software development teams and processes across geographies; driving architecture decision making to optimize performance, security, and UI/UX simultaneously.
- Go-to person for defensive/offensive security and penetration testing management.
- Modern SaaS startup operator mentality: ability to meet deadlines under pressure; excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
- Experience developing and managing budgets; managing costs effectively.
- Process and results driven.
- Knowledge of all functions and roles within IT and technology departments.
$250 – $450 an hour
