Contextualize is seeking a remote developer to enhance, expand, and reimagine an existing infrastructure for scientific data workflows. You will work closely with domain specialists to build custom solutions across the spectrum of development complexity: from customer-facing web applications (front-end and back-end) to developmental Jupyter notebooks and Python libraries.
Far from formulaic, these projects will require you to reimagine solutions, plan out and hit short term deliverables, and adapt to changing needs while maintaining the long-term vision: to enable scientists and scientific discovery.
Basic Qualifications:
- AWS Cloud
- IaC, e.g., AWS CDK
- IAM, API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, CloudFormation, VPCs, VPNs, Security Groups, etc.
- Network/cybersecurity
- 1+ years leading product development in AWS/CDK or Associate AWS certification
- Languages
- Strong python
- Solid Javascript/Typescript/REACT
- Databases
- GraphDB (Neptune preferred)
- NoSQL (AWS DynamoDB preferred)
- GitLab CI/CD
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting APIs,
- Experience with Docker,
- 2+ years DevOps
Preferred Qualifications:
- Full Stack (MERN)
- Some JAVA or C# (Spring Boot or .NET)
- Experience in another field of science or engineering.
Beyond technical proficiency, Contextualize is looking for someone interested in helping to grow and shape a company in the rapidly evolving field of scientific and manufacturing data management and analysis for the long term. The successful candidate should have effective verbal and written communication skills and take ownership of their work, from concept to production, including proposal, discussion, and execution. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.
