The Linux Systems Administrator will administer and support the Linux-based Development and Production environments. Under the direction of the Manager of Systems, you will be responsible for ongoing technological business continuity, resiliency, and resumption, as achieved through the provisioning, diagnostics, administration, and operation of Linux-based software, systems, data, and infrastructures in an enterprise-class infrastructure. In this role, the Linux Systems Administrator will also manage and act on incoming requests for support from internal users, provide timely updates to clients, and manage requests through all stages of the request's life cycle.
The ideal incumbent will have a passion for technology and its internals and will always be interested in why and how technology behaves as it does.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
The ideal candidate will have 4 - 6+ years of experience and Expertise in the following areas.
- Customer Service via Ticketing System(s)
- Linux System Administration
- Data Center and/or Related Operations
- On-Call work as Linux System Administrator
- System Engineering
- Experience in Networking (Cisco is a Plus)
- Experience in Virtualized Environments (VMware is a Plus)
- Capability and Desire to Serve in Ongoing On-Call Rotations
- Solutions and Results Orientation
- Passion for Technology and its Internals
- Understand and adhere to organizational information security and regulatory compliance requirements
- Must have a broad knowledge of cyber security methods and technologies across the industry
- Understand and apply principles of information security in day-to-day duties
- Support continuous monitoring efforts and processes to maintain an acceptable risk posture
Environment/Conditions
This will be fully remote. This is a full-time position. Monday to Friday. Core office hours will be 8 hours within the range of hours. Depending on assigned responsibilities or projects, some nights and weekends will be required. This position will require ON CALL STATUS.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- In lieu of Degree, comparable experience in Systems Administration related work

Annual base salary range from $100,000 to $125,000
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the Sphere salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and be based on various factors, such as qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of Sphere's total compensation package for employees.
